Tortilla Chips - Baked Low fat

\Tortilla chips made at home is a healthy alternative to regular potato chips. Tortilla chips is very easy to make and with any variety of seasoning, it's a perfect evening snack that could be prepared in minutes. I am sure kids and chips lovers looking for a healthy snack will have fun.



Ingredients - Serves 4
  • Wheat tortillas - 4 medium (Herb tortilla gives a better flavour)
  • Chilli powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Oil - 1 tsp (oil spray works best)
  • Salt to taste
Method
  • Using a pizza cutter or regular knife, cut the tortilla into chips size squares or triangles
  • Spead the pieces on a baking tray
  • Drizzle / spray oil over the tortilla pieces
  • Sprinkle chilli powder and salt and mix well
  • Bake the chips in a conventional oven for about 10 minutes at 170C
  • Allow the chips to cool
  • Serve with salsa or any dip








Tip - You can use chilli powder or garam masala and any herbs like oragano, parsley, etc for seasoning.

Nutritional Information
  • Wheat tortillas are low in fat and contains iron and Vitamin B. Maize tortillas are also naturally low in fat and sodium and contains calcium, potassium and fiber. Both kinds of tortillas are also low in cholesterol.
  • Per serving = 140 calories approximately
